Introductory Lacrosse

No classes the week of spring break (March 29-April 4)
These 12 week introductory classes are for beginning and first year players. We will focus on the fundamentals of the game with primary emphasis on stick skills (throwing, catching, scoping and shooting) and offensive and defensive positioning and skills.
The Saturday class is “game day” in which the class will consist of a one hour game with coaches and coach refs.
Full equipment is required (stick, gloves, shoulder pads, arm pads, helmet and mouth guard) and is available for purchase at The Next Level.

Intermediate Lacrosse

This comprehensive 12 week class is a follow up to our introductory lacrosse class for the player with 1-2 years of experience. We will continue to focus on the fundamentals of the game with emphasis on stick skills (throwing, catching, scooping and shooting) and offensive and defensive skills (shooting, dodging, checking, etc.) and game play. Periodically players will be filmed and provided with instructor feedback in our team video room. About half of each class will be devoted to scrimmaging.
The Saturday class is “game day” in which the class will consist of a one hour game with coaches and coach refs.

Shooting & Dodging

Shooting and dodging classes begin with a review and analysis of training film covering a specific type of shot or dodge. Our coaches then teach this skill on the field through intensive small group training sessions. Periodically players will be filmed and provided with instructor feedback in our team video room. Training of all skills is done equally both right and left.

Advanced Offense v. Defense

This class is for both offensive and defensive players. Offensive players will work on a variety of dodges against a defenseman from various typical locations on the field (from X, from the wing, from up top). We will work on the proper technique; stick protection, footwork, shot location and team offense principles.
Defensive players will be coached in individual technique (stance, hand position, body position, checking), defending one-on-one (from X, from the wing, from up top), and team defense (playing off the ball, sliding, transition defense and team defensive schemes).
